The Brake System Is Not Just About Brake Pads: Maintenance Knowledge for Loader Brake Booster Pumps and Brake Calipers

Wheel loaders often work in complex environments. The brake system not only affects parking safety but also influences loading and transport efficiency. Many faults are not caused only by brake pads. Brake booster pumps, booster pump oil seals, brake calipers, and brake discs are equally important.

Wheel loaders often work in complex environments. The brake system not only affects parking safety but also influences loading and transport efficiency. Many faults are not caused only by brake pads. Brake booster pumps, booster pump oil seals, brake calipers, and brake discs are equally important.

Common wheel loader brake systems use air-over-hydraulic or hydraulic booster structures. The brake booster pump or boosting pump uses air or hydraulic pressure to amplify pedal force, causing the brake caliper to clamp the brake disc and generate braking force. If the internal oil seal of the booster pump ages, oil leakage or insufficient pressure may occur, resulting in a soft brake pedal and longer braking distance. On the LIANYU Global product page, the 800933786 Brake Booster Boosting Pump is suitable for the XCMG wheel loader LW200KV. The 860113914 and XZ50k-3510002 Repair Kit air Booster Pump Oil Seal are suitable for the LW200KV. The 275101705 and DA1170B (IV).4 Brake Disc and Brake Caliper are suitable for wheel loaders.

Common brake system faults include brake pulling, which may be caused by inconsistent pressure between the left and right brake calipers or uneven brake disc wear. Brake drag may be caused by stuck caliper guide pins, swollen oil seals, or poor return. Brake fluid leakage requires inspection of oil pipes, oil seals, and the booster pump. Maintenance recommendations include regularly checking brake fluid or hydraulic oil quality, draining moisture from the air circuit, checking brake disc thickness and friction plate wear, cleaning the caliper guide area, and confirming that the booster pump oil seal has no leakage. In dusty environments such as mines and sand and gravel yards, inspection intervals should be shortened.
